  • A Blow to Third Parties Nationwide

This evening on Larry King Live, former Libertarian governor of MInnesota, Jesse Ventura, announced that he has decided against a run for the U.S. Senate in that state.  This is not only a blow to third parties and their issues with ballot access, but to Minnesotans state-wide.  According to an informal poll done by the ABC affiliate in the Twin Cities area, Ventura, without having announced his candidacy, was polling ahead of the Democrat challenger to the Republican incumbent.  Polling second without even announcing a candidacy is no small feat.  For those of you interested, Al Franken, from Saturday Night Live, book and Air America fame, is the Democrat candidate challenging for that seat.
